MICA RUNWAY HAS ARRIVED AND IS CELEBRATING TEN-YEARS…WELCOME TO THE FUTURE OF AN EVER CHANGING INDUSTRY!

MICA Runway 2010 has a lot to celebrate in the world of art and entertainment (Music, Fashion, Film, Literary, and Visual Arts). With the help of our supporters, sponsors, and celebrity guests, we intend to celebrate with a BANG!

New York, NY- May 3, 2010. The theme this year is GREEN FASHIONOLOGY, a fusion of eco-fashion, futuristic and technology. MICA Runway 2010 will be a 3-day extravaganza filled with a plethora of talent showcasing through film, fashion, technology, and the arts. This is not only an outstanding opportunity for those participating, but also for investors and supporters alike, thus opening the door for networking and new business opportunities.

MICA Runway Founder, Ann Marie “Jade” Bryan, is a woman who has years of experience as a talent manager, fundraiser, theatre director, and producer of films and fashion shows. That’s not all…She is also an inventor, motivational speaker, teacher, and writer, giving her the expertise to know what is needed in her community. She is also devoted to making sure that each and every talented American Sign Language (ASL) user is recognized for their skills, and unique quality of work that can be brought to this industry. ASL users include: Interpreters, Children of Deaf Adults (CODA), Students, and people who use ASL as a second language. No one said that this journey would be easy, but it’s definitely worth trying as hard as you can to break into, displaying exactly just how universal the language of art is for everyone.

Taking place the weekend of October 8th-10th, Multicultural International Consortium of [Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing] Artists and Advocates will be celebrating its 10th anniversary. MICA Runway 2010 is a three-day event kicking off the day on Friday with Green Art Exhibition, VMP Awareness, Open-Night Movie Premiere and reception, a high-end Fashion Show on Saturday, and finally, a full day of film showcases followed by a panel discussion, and then ending with a closing reception party.

The purposes of MICA Runway include fundraising for a variety causes, one of them being our campaign: VISUAL MUSIC PROJECT (VMP): WE LOVE MUSIC TOO! This campaign allows us to produce music videos of high quality that are accessible to ASL consumers. We’ve been working on this project for two years now and it’s becoming extremely popular, and highly demanded.

This is a way we can finally be an integral part of the digital music and entertainment world. In addition, we are raising funds to support a Haitian organization that is based right here in New York City, supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals affected by the earthquake this year.

As always, MICA Runway will continue to give its attendees a weekend they will never forget with celebrity guests, red carpet appeal, and gift bags, not to mention, making this press worthy event the definitive moment for all of our ASL users, consumers and everyone involved. This provides the exposure needed to show the world exactly what we are capable of, and not just in the forefront, but behind the scene as well. What we do could not be possible without the help of our volunteers who are an essential to our community.

While we’re seeking sponsors, we’re also looking for high-end fashion designers, runway models, artistry support team, green artists and creative design people and filmmakers to participate.
